#lullyslist | BE goes WILD!

It's that time of the year again, every November. BE kollective is made up of me, Selb and five of my artists/designer friends. We just had an art opening for our BE goes Wild exhibition. This year, I partnered with an art buddy, Izzan from Northlight school.  I first met Izzan at Jurong Bird Park, together with the other art buddies and BE mentors. I remembered he expressed his excitement about seeing the dinosaur descendants birds. He sat and sketched quite a detailed drawing. Weeks later, we met again to start painting on canvas. I guessed our painting styles matched! I was able to teach him painting techniques and saw his confidence grow.  The highlight of the art exhibition opening...

It’s been a week after BE’s exhibition; Locality. Memories. Reconstruction. Selb mentioned before in her previous #SelbsSeries that both of us are part of an art collective with five other artists. We focus on exhibiting for a social cause. On our third run, we collaborated with art buddies who are people with special needs, and the students from Northlight School Art Club.Together, we are raising funds for Sree Narayan Mission Nursing Home who help patients with Dementia. Since, the opening we have raised $13K and we hope to raise more for the elderly with Dementia and artists with special needs. Here are the highlights of the art opening captured by Danon. #Selbsseries | Collaboration over Competition

Hey guys,  Thank you so so much for the overwhelming support for our latest campaign #LSwithyou. It's really encouraging to know you love the prints done by Sijun and Shalom and we're sure gonna continue this campaign. This year we had a few collaborations; one which was showcased at Buckingham Palace, a Take A Pause Workshop we did with Aida Azlin and Asha, working with awesome photographers, videographers, models and other artists. I learnt so much about their artistry and it was really effective when we work in teams rather than doing things solo. If there's one important key take-away from this; I...

#lullyslist | Thoughts process behind #LSwithyou

It's been a week since the launch of new prints by Sijun and Shalom and guess what?! Their prints are sold out! Thank you so much for the overwhelming response! When I was about to design new prints with Sijun's Underwater series, it felt natural as I've worked with his previous paintings before. This time there are more layers and textures and it was fun to arrange the layout for the shawl designs. Despite the fun, it was quite challenging because the paintings were very colorful with lots of details. We had to make sure every shawl is not too bright and wearable. This is one cute moment of Sijun I'd like to share. This was told by his teacher Nancy...

#lullyslist | BTS for Lully Selb x Sijun & Friends

If you followed our postings on Instagram, I promised a behind-the-scenes of the process for Sijun's Bright and Sunny scenery shawl. Initially when I received photographs of his paintings, I was already in awe. How can I possible add anything to this painting? I wouldn't want to distort the beautiful landscape painting. Stretching the picture on Photoshop wouldn't do justice. So i figured to work around it! Yesss.  I had an idea to subtly expand his paintings. Instead of adding my painterly strokes, I decided to just expand the colours. Flat solid colors. From afar the image will look as one but a closer look, the contrast complements his painting! As I had to draft out my ideas, I chose Sakura's...
