It's been almost 5 years since I've graduated yet this piece of paper which I tore from my college newsletter is still up on my inspiration board. Back when I was pursuing Fine Arts, there was always a struggle to find my personal style and thinking: "What will I paint today?" My fashion journey started when I won 1st prize at a nationwide competition in Fashion Design when I was 15. The prize was a BA scholarship Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts which I took it up after completing my Diploma in Temasek Polytechnic. Being a fashion student was quite a nightmare for me. This was the beginning of my honeymoon adventure. We flew in from LA to Calgary, a small little town in Canada. From Calgary, we rented a car and headed to the amazing national park - Banff. This photo was probably taken at the highway leading to the park where we could see a glimpse of the rocky mountains. And boy, we were already in awe and super excited to drive closer! It's been hectic for the past few weeks for me! Making new prints for this year's Eid collection was quite challenging. Before we release the new prints for the collection, let's take a look at these work-in-progress which didn't make the cut.
Pastels are all the rage for Spring/Summer 2016. To be honest though, I've never been a pastels kinda girl. In today's Selb Series, I've picked up various modest street wear inspiration on how to rock pastels.
Pro tip: Add black or a dark colour to your outfit. It gives a contrast to the pastel and you'll feel strong, edgy and feminine at the same time.
