Happy Teacher’s Day to fellow educators out there! For the first time today, pre-school teachers get a day off too!

It’s been almost 8 years teaching art freelance. Through these years I had the opportunity to share my knowledge and make art with people of all ages- in studios, classrooms and house calls too. It can get mentally exhausting doing lesson plans, teaching itself. Nonetheless I have no regrets. Being a creative person myself, making art with children especially has broaden my perspective. I am intrigued at how effortless and fearless they can be. A few years ago I went through a creative rut. I just couldn’t paint at all. I didn’t know what to paint. That was quite worrying for a practising artist. Thankfully I got over it. It’s these kids who inspired me to pick up my brush again. There’s just something about their quirks and charming character that is portrayed in their art- the colours they chose, their brush strokes and attention to details. Here’s a selection of artworks done by my students.
