#selbsseries | how I stay sane

2 days before my EDD, not sure if by the time you read this, I may be in labour. Feeling Super anxious as I play the waiting game of the arrival of my baby. On Top of that, I am doing as much work as I can like planning for the next 6 months of product launches, creating content and clearing all the admin paperwork. This last one week I also spent time spring cleaning my home, took out all the baby stuff, cleaned Iman’s toys, took a trip to ikea for some last min shopping. It was overwhelming.Sometimes I find myself waking up from my bed and straight away going through the things I have to do in my head. #lullyslist | #my1959

Hey! I'm sure you have seen our recent shawl design on our Instagram feed and stories. It's a tribute to 60 years of our National State Crest, National Pledge and National Anthem. The team and I were so honoured to be part of #my1959. When briefed to create a design based on these symbols, we chose the National Anthem.  We have all sang the Majulah Singapura all our lives during school assembly but do we really relate every word of it to our lives now? #selbsseries | Counting down to the new motherhood

It felt just like yesterday when I found out I was pregnant with baby number 2. It was surreal, unexpected and overwhelming. My first trimester was dealing with a lot of nausea, 2nd trimester was easy breezy and now the last lap is getting heavier by the day.  With all the physical pain and discomfort, I think mentally getting through this pregnancy while running the business is really tough. My EDD (estimated delivery date) is 21 December , so technically I can give birth anytime which also means this may be my last blogpost for 2019....

#lullyslist | BE goes WILD!

It's that time of the year again, every November. BE kollective is made up of me, Selb and five of my artists/designer friends. We just had an art opening for our BE goes Wild exhibition. This year, I partnered with an art buddy, Izzan from Northlight school.  I first met Izzan at Jurong Bird Park, together with the other art buddies and BE mentors. I remembered he expressed his excitement about seeing the dinosaur descendants birds. He sat and sketched quite a detailed drawing. Weeks later, we met again to start painting on canvas. I guessed our painting styles matched! I was able to teach him painting techniques and saw his confidence grow.  The highlight of the art exhibition opening...

#selbsseries | 3 ways to save on your kid's birthday party

I recently celebrated Iman's 2nd birthday. I never had any intentions to throw a birthday party for her but while planning I got so distracted with pinterest inspiration. What was supposed to be just cake cutting became an almost legit party with 30 guests who came over. It was so easy for me to go to a party shop and grab all the things I needed but when I did the math, I was going to spend hundreds of dollars or maybe close to  thousand. Is that worth it? She's only 2 and I doubt she will remember anything.  I decided to DIY as much as I could, to save money and also let Iman be part of the process.  1) DIY plates...
